Oscar Stagnaro, a brilliant educator, Latin music icon and a Warwick player, was just asked to be the musical director for the Achievments Awards ceremony for the 2008 Latin Grammys, to be held in Las Vegas on November 7th. He will be presenting a Berklee Ensemble of eight pieces that will perform during that event, and the next night will be the regular Latin Grammys Award ceremony. This is the first time that a Berklee group has been selected for this important event.
In January of 2009 the IAJE (International Association of Jazz Educators) will be held in Toronto, Canada, and Oscar has also been assigned to be the musical director for a Latin American Jazz Band comprised of students from various countries of Latin America. This is an historic event and we are proud that Oscar is at the heart of it!
