Here's another common tech question we get: "My D-string and G-string have significantly less output than my low B, E, and A strings on my 5-string bass. My tone is extremely boomy on the low strings and you can barely hear what I'm playing on the top strings. Any ideas if the problem resides with my bass? Please help!!!!" It seems like either the pickup height needs adjustment or it may be that the D-string and G-string are just simply dead. The first thing to try would be to get a new set of strings. If that doesn't do it, the pickups should be raised on the treble side. This is a simple adjustment, needing only a Phillips head screwdriver. The adjustment screws are easily found on the ends of each pickup. We set the pickups so they are closer to the G and D strings before we ship them, but it is very possible they have shifted with normally playing. Email your tech questions to: DBGTech@danabgoods.com
